Things to jump over?
At the last horse show we went to, the pony I ride was being great when we were schooling in the schooling arenas. But those were regular colored standards and poles and unfortunately we didn’t get there soon enough to school the jumps they used for the show with all the flowers and spooky stuff. And he’s the type of horse that has to look at it before he jumps it so it didn’t go well. Now we are trying to break him from that habbit while schooling at home. We only have brown standards and poles though so we were jumping over hay bales, orange cones and barrels. I was looking around the house and I could only find one basket of fake flowers and I also found some pom poms and I was thinking about taking a piece of blue tarp. Any other ideas?
Painted tree branches are good, especially if your doing hunters.
Even things like upside down buckets can prove to be fun. If you bring big containers from home and laundry baskets and stuff you could either use them on their own or make like a lego jump.
If your horse is ready you can try more noisy things like plastic bags.
you could fill garbage bags with leaves or anything (other than trash that would stink)
even boxes painted in bright colors could give some of the
effect.
Try putting a blanket or jacket over the pole.
Be creative but remember be safe too! Don’t use anything that could be dangerous (getting legs stuck, splinters, etc)
